monday = thrifted

This weekend I...

thrifted:

while my guy cooked:

{it was a wonderful weekend - although I did absolutely no embroidery which makes two weeks in a row, I really need to get moving!}

****edited to add:

#1 - I need to gush a little bit more about how amazing my man is & what a great cook he is...his {homemade, completely from scratch} pizza & flourless chocolate cake are my favorites & they have ruined me for any other version. I'm so lucky!

#2 - I have an idea, how about I feature a book from that stack this week & you guys pick it with your votes in today's comments. Whichever book gets the most requests is the one I will post about on Wednesday...

holy cow, what a score!

oooo, tough to pick just one. I collect those little Betty Crocker cookbooks (isn't that one near the top?) and think I have the cloth toys book. My choice would have to be "The Girl in the White Hat".

I see by your pictures that apparently we collect the same things!

I vote for "Look Alive Libby"!

(And the food looks yummy! Lucky you!)

What lovely finds! You have such amazing thrifting skills. I am also lucky enough to have a fabulous cook for a husband (he's the son of a chef, and has inherited his dad's love of food). It's a good thing, since I have been known, on occasion, to ruin Mac N' Cheese. I leave the cooking to him!

Ok, you cannot tease me like that with the first picture. What are they? Full quilts? Must see more. (off to see if there is a flickr account!)

Bambi! Bambi! Bambi! Bambi!

:)

And I agree with others - either you have thrift stores of gold wherever you are, or just some mad thriftin' skillz. :)

You totally scored! In terms of books, I vote for "Rob and the Robins" or "Bird Watching."

I vote for Look Alive, Libby! What a great title. Although, the Maps and Globes is a close second.

Me oh My! What wonderful goodies and treats!

I would love to see more of the Betty Crocker on eplease. t has such a pretty spine so the inside must be fabulous.

before I even read down to the edits I was going to comment and ask what "look alive libby" was about!

I love the 2 thrifted art pieces! And I vote for "Look Alive Libby".

Geesh! I never find cool stuff like that. If I find a old quilt in a price range I can afford I soon discover, as I unfold it, that it has a stain the size of Texas that looks suspisiously like some type of bodily fluid.

"maps and globes"! I go weak in the knees for a good vintage map.

Some fantastic finds - we never see quilts like that in sales, ever! Come to think of it, we're OK for fabric and buttons but nothing like yo guys get out there! I'm moving, it's decided me! Book wise - my brain hurts so the only thing I can think about is The Moomins... but ignore that!

The Lame Prince??? What a title!!

What do the pictures look like in the book The Girl in the White Hat??

What a great find for you!!

I'd be happy seeing any of those books! But my vote is for "Maps and Globes."

And I have to join in and say that you really do have the best luck thrifting! I find when I go it's hit or miss, but you always find the best things.

I am lucky to have a guy that cooks, too. And I completely agree - now that I've had his pizza, no other pizzas should even try to compete.

I have that very same big tree embroidery!!! I found it in our local thrift shop for $5, and it now hangs by our dining table. Love it. I hope you enjoy yours too! :)

When I saw your post about the tree embroidery I was so jealous. Since then I have had it burned into my brain. What are the chances that you find something fabulous that another person has found while treasure hunting? I was at the Goodwill today and there it was! I quickly grabbed it and placed it in my cart all the while grinning from ear to ear.
