I grew up in Western New York, the home of Fisher Price toys.
when I was little, my sister worked there & she would bring me home defective toys...things like horses with 4 different color legs.
in addition, I had the airplane, parking garage, farm, house, wind-up clock, as well as a pull-along dog. at least those are the ones I remember playing with, I'm sure I had others.
so I have a special place in my heart for vintage FP toys, but don't actually own any. until this past weekend, when this guy seemed so dejected at being unsold on the last day of an estate sale:
{evidence my family must not be the only one with a weakness for Fisher Price}

hallmark should pay you a commission- i'm buying that ornament asap!
I love the old Fisher Price toys too! As children, my brothers and I had the red barn and silo, blue house, airplane, village, service station, and castle among others. I think they are still in the attic!
Blessings,
Lorilee
Oh no, I like them too! The little people we call them "Happy's!"
So a few weeks ago at an Antique Fair we got an old wooden happy for each member of our family for our Christmas tree this year!!
I have to of this one. One is missing his red shoe but I just love love love Fisher Price. The only toy I remember having as a child is the snoopy pull toy. How fun to get all the rejects!
ahh.. I loved my parking garage. Thanks for bringing back good memories.
I had him too! I am so envious of your FP castoffs. I *LOVED* Little People and the farm! I loved hearing that moo when you opened the doors!
and I thought I was the only one that still wistfully thinks of their fisher price toys! I have an awesome xmas picture of all my little people things set up at my grandmothers when I was like 3. I am so getting that ornament:)
Wow I had Fisher Price toys too! I didnt kow they were from the US. I live in the UK. I had a wind up clock and a pull along susage dog. My Mum trimmed his felt ears for me as they would drag in puddles! I also had a record player. They will all still be in my Mums loft.

My favorite toy when I was 6 or so was the Fisher Price Castle.
I also had the town, and the schoolhouse, and the A-frame house (another favorite), and the farm.
Later, my brother had the school bus and the Sesame Street playset (added on to what I had had). Even though I was five years older than him and perhaps too "old" in some people's eyes, I loved playing Fisher Price stuff with him...
I've seen a knitting pattern somewhere to knit and felt little dolls that look like the Fisher Price people...
FP toys were such a big part of my childhood. My favorite was the Queen Bee and later a little dog who was revived in "Toy Story". My youngest brother had the record player with little plastic records. All of those toys could stand up to anything a kid could dish out and I believe many of them were handed down several times. Thanks for the memories!
I always buy old fisher price toys when I see them. And then, bad mother that I am, I refuse to let Jack play with *some* of them. (Not all of them mind you, just the more fragile ones, like a super old tv thing.) LOL
I have a whole shelf full of them. Too bad they sold our actual ones at my grandma's estate sale. Sigh.
I loved the pull toys. We had a wiener dog pull toy and of course, my kids had the popcorn popper push toy. Love your turtle.
