Okay, I know I say this every week but is it really Thursday already?!
{I swear, Thursday is always hiding around the corner, giggling in anticipation for the moment it can jump out and surprise the crap out of me!}
Today I’ve got a finished embroidery project to share with you:
I made these for my guy because he likes bugs; he takes beautiful photos of them in fact.
I bought the Martha Stewart shadow boxes at Michaels on clearance {these are the smaller size}. The green paper is also Martha’s.
I’m really happy with the way these came out!
And here are a couple {what I think are} interesting links:
Look at these beautiful embroidery pieces - so inspiring!
The illustrations in this book would be really cute embroidered…

How neat! I didn't even know that was embroidery. It gave me some ideas! Thanks!!!
Dont tell me its an embroidery. No way.. Gosh it looks so real
Do you know what.. these are amazing! I can't believe they are stitched either! SO SO GOOD!
Holy smokes! These are AMAZING! I love cutting out the embroidery like that - what a fantastic way to highlight them! And the display is just perfect! You amaze me. :)
Wow!!! At first I thought that they were pen and ink drawings. Absolutely amazing and super wonderful!
I concur with all of the above comments! Amazing. It really didn't look like embroidery at all - that must've taken FOREVER.
Your bugs are AWESOME!
Your embroidery is divine!
And now I'm tempted to buy that book just to stich the little designs :P
Oh my gosh, those are incredible! Did you follow a pattern for them? And if so, where can I find it??
The bugs are so pretty - love, love, love them!
i love these bugs, they look beautiful and those shadow boxes makes them look like those insect study boxes from science class in elementary school. great work!
i'm SOOOO in love with all the vogart birds, these are just precious!
thank you for sharing them with us!
i never thought i would say this but i love those bugs. amazing!!!
I love that you get everything on sale and clearance and thrifty-like cause that's what I do! It feels so much more rewarding when you can make something from a piece that no one else wanted.
Great work. Nice detail. My wife passed me your blog because of the insects.
