so I did.

a celebratory slideshow

as I previously mentioned, the external hard-drive that I kept all my work on malfunctioned so I sent it off to see about getting the data recovered. well, the bad news is I did lose a lot of stuff & but the good news is I didn't lose it all!

so, I can finally share with you the photos I was working on that fateful night, which I took at the blacktop car show held back in august in downtown wichita:

it was really fun to to try my hand at photographing something different & I was lucky to have so many beautiful, shiny, colorful subjects all in one place :)

p.s. if you find yourself in need of retrieving data I highly recommend drive savers - I did research online & they always came up as being the best and I can see why.

country estate sale

everything was for sale at this hundred year old house in the heart of hutchinson amish country, right down to the built-ins, because it was going to be demolished to make way for a new home built by the daughter who had inherited the farm from her parents.








after the sale, driving down the dirt road on the way back to town I stopped to say hi:

my visit saturday happened to coincide with the town's chili fest so not only did the whole place smell delicious but the furniture store was having an ugly couch contest...except I thought contestant #2 was beautiful, much to the amusement of the salesman.

this past friday I photographed real people...not my usual inanimate thrifted things or vintage signs...real, live people.



quite frankly I was nervous to do portrait type photography for the first time - we had more ideas than time & it was very hot out, but it was fun & I got to help out a dear friend which made me very happy :)
