I thrifted an unfinished stamped baby blanket top last weekend at the thrift store. it makes me sad to think no one may have ever got to see this stitcher's work...so I wanted to share it here so it could be appreciated:
{there are two more on my flickr if you'd like to see}
for this week's vintage transfers I'm sharing scans of the two animals that had not been worked on:
I like the idea of someone stitching these up & symbolically finishing the project for the original stitcher...
happy stitching!

Beautiful satin stitches! I wonder who will get all of my unfinished projects?
Karen
So cute and so sad it was never finished.
So cute, Gina. If someday you feel like finishing the stitching, I would be happy to hand quilt it for you.
I always wonder what happened that it never got finished. I would love to have something like this in my family, passed down to the next baby. Thanks for sharing the cute scans.
Thank you for sharing! Lynn
So glad you shared with us! It's just the cutest thing!
so happy you all enjoyed the patterns! and thank you so much for leaving a comment :)
martha - you are so sweet to offer to hand-quilt it!! we'll see...right now I'm not sure what my plans are but I will keep your offer in mine. my goodness you are just so generous & kind :)
lovestitches & karen - I wonder the same thing...I like to think that anything handmade that ends up in the thrift store is getting a second chance to be found by someone who will take care of it & appreciate it.
Do you know how you "finish" one of those stamped blankets? I have a stamped blanket I'd like to stitch one day, but wonder about finishing - do you cover your stitches on the back with another fabric, or just leave the back exposed?
OMG they are all so cute. I'm following all those crafty people who blog baby stuff since I just found out I'm pregnant. Have a very nice day!
These are absolutely adorable! Thank you for taking the time to share these cuties. Also, thanks to the internet for allowing me to find this so many years later! :)
