go big or go home

oh man - at 7' x 5' this is by far the largest & craziest thing I've ever thrifted! {well, until the inevitable day I find just the right vintage camper}

thank you craigslist, I didn't realize I needed a huge DQ sign but it appears I totally did :)

{have a wonderful weekend!}

That is SO awesome; I wouldn't have been able to leave it behind either... and it appears to be in such good condition, too. :)

Someone has to preserve the classic DQ signage so people will remember what came before the blue/orange swirl nonsense.

But now you'll be craving Blizzards and onions rings constantly. Or onion ring blizzards. Mmmm.

my parents owned a DQ in the 80's so i would love to see a cool print of this with some kind of aqua background. my home is decorated in red and aqua, so it would be perfect!

cool find!

COOL!!! Growing up, my best friend's family had a huge metal Mobile Pegasus sign in their backyard, right next to their Airstream which was PERFECT and which they took to the lake every weekend. They had all kinds of treasures like that. Do you have any relatives in OK?

This is too crazy...I just read that Heidi from My Paper Crane blog also got a Dairy Queen sign this week!

I'm a bit sad that perhaps Dairy Queen is re-branding and that's why these awesome signs are up for grabs.

Wow! You are even more awesome than I even thought was possible.

I remember seeing a photo of a dining room in a really cool house that had a (repro?) of the red flying horse sign (http://bit.ly/blmOMq) that was the original logo for Mobil Oil. It was hung on a wall painted a dark greyish-olive color.

thanks for your comments everyone! I love sharing my finds with you guys...you totally get them :)

I don't have any relatives in OK sewmuchfun4 but if I did your friend's family would be who I'd want to be related to ;)

becky & winnibriggs displaying the sign will have to wait for awhile...the house we live in is a rental so we're not comfortable putting it up :( I can't wait until the day comes when we can though - I love the idea of decorating with things like this!
