fake'in friday, tote preorders & a blog break

first - a new kind of fake:


I made this using the outside edge of a family photo from the 70's - here's a link to the retro photo frame download so you can make your own if you'd like.

once you follow the link, right mouse click on the image to save the file to your desktop. its a photoshop file, so there are layers to create the frame & a white mask to hide the rest of your photo if its not square. just make sure your photo is moved to be the bottom-most layer.

I hope that makes sense...and works...I haven't done one like this before.

secondly - I'm ready to start taking preorders for naked totes:


the photo is a sample I had printed up - they used a tote they had in stock that was the right color {natural} but not the right style {no gusset}. the totes I'll be selling will be 14" x 13" x 4" so they'll have a nice gusset on the sides so they can hold more crafty stuff. as opposed to the bags I made for the giveaway, the tote is a natural color & the pink is more muted & vintage-y. they will be $19 each & you can choose from the following designs:





shipping rates are $4 us, $5 canada & $6 everywhere else. I can combine shipping of two totes for that price.

the deadline for preorders will be august 2nd but you don't pay until your order is in stock & ready to ship which will be around august 17th.

and finally - I need a little blogging break, but I'm not going away totally. I'll be posting a fake retro frame photo like the one from today, each week day for the next two weeks using photos from the trip I took last year to visit my family & go to the annual corn festival, back in my hometown. so in addition to today's eggplant there will be things like cows, games and rides...I hope you enjoy them!

I was pretty much beside myself when I found that fisher price camper at an estate sale...it was the first time I'd seen one so I grabbed it even though the price was higher than my usual thrifting standards.
