I recently purchased this at an estate sale for $2:
it had some issues...two of the blades were broken, there was some fire damage to the roof & one of the angels had lost her halo {you can't tell from the photo because it was after I took it apart & removed their metal wings and halos}. so I didn't feel bad about painting it:
I added some vintage millinery flowers & created a backstory to account for their outfits...they are french nuns who wear pink habits and grow flowers at a convent located in the countryside outside of paris.
that's babette - she likes to sneak out at night & sit at the outdoor cafes in paris.

Love It.... This will no doubt be the highlight of my day! So modern & clean the pink nuns the very best touch. See you Soon!
So simple, clean and sweet! Love this and love the story - makes good sense to me!!
This is so absolutely awesome! Love the pink nuns and all the colors! I'm jealous... I want to find that :)
oh my gosh!! pink nuns--i love it!!!
I love these things! We had a 3 tier nativity one when I was growing up - the wood dried out over the years and it just kept breaking apart. I'd love to find a simple one like this that I could use all year long!
Love love love!! I'm thinking that Babette has the right idea!
You're awesome.
Wow, paint really freshened that up.
brilliant!!!!!
There really ARE pink nuns. They wear pink habits, though they are almost never seen as they only leave the convent once a year.

This is great! I used to have one of these, but alas, I did not have the foresight to do something this awesome with it. I should have though, before it got too beat up.
