thursday = embroidery

happy embroidery day!

now don't fall off your chair...but guess what? I've got a finished project to share!

I call it "you're a doll":

I used an image from one of my vintage coloring books and the lid to one of Michaels wooden boxes. the patterned paper is scenic route from the scrapbooking store.

and to continue the cute girl {& boys} theme, here's a tri-chem pattern for you:

bye!

wednesday = books

I found that there was one Ondori book in my library that I had not shared yet, so that’s our book for this week:

tuesday = fabric

Instead of fabric scans, thought I’d shake things up and do some photos of fabric patterns around the house:

monday = thrifted

I had a really good weekend, hope you did too!

I went to only one estate sale, but it was a pretty good one. I got…

some McCall’s Needlework magazines {$3.50}

buttons {$3}

a {too small} beaded cardigan {$4}

and a {reversible} hat {$2}

there was some thrifty crafting as well:

I just used some balls of fabric scraps I got at an estate sale last summer {probably meant for rug making} & an unfinished wood bracelet from the clearance section at Michaels.

yeah, it’s a little crazy all the threads fraying but I actually like that!

p.s. a little public shout out to my sister Mern for the hand...its come in very, um, handy, thank you!

friday = misc.

I have fine, short hair so I don't really use any hair accessories. My sister on the other hand has long, thick hair and is always looking for new accessories to use:

These were made using a thrfited pin & earring glued on to clip blanks from Hobby Lobby.

I might be back this weekend to share some photos...if I don't catch you though I hope you have a lovely weekend!

thursday = embroidery

Happy Thursday!

So here we are at embroidery day & as usual I don't have any stitching to share. Which is really getting ridiculous - I need to figure out exactly what is going wrong. Part of it is that I've been very busy at work lately, and since I work in a creative field I find that by the end of the day I'm tapped out & not in the mood to do anything else remotely creative. I have also started working out again & dang that takes up a lot of time! So those two things have conspired to zap my energy & free time recently, not that I'm making excuses. I'm just say'in...

Anyhow, I've been leaving all my crafting for the weekends along with a long list of other things to do & while I'm all for buying new underwear rather than doing the laundry a girl has to buckle down at some point and try to get their life in better order. So that's what I'm going to try to do...get my crafty life in order...I've added it to my list of things to do this weekend, so you know I'm serious.

Because you actually read that & because I appreciate that, here is your embroidery reward:

Also, did anyone else get all excited about allsorts pretty maids sneak peek?! I'm so behind on catching up with blogland & what everyone is up to so please excuse me if this is old news...
