I went to only one estate sale, but it was a pretty good one. I got…
some McCall’s Needlework magazines {$3.50}

buttons {$3}

a {too small} beaded cardigan {$4}

and a {reversible} hat {$2}

there was some thrifty crafting as well:

I just used some balls of fabric scraps I got at an estate sale last summer {probably meant for rug making} & an unfinished wood bracelet from the clearance section at Michaels.
yeah, it’s a little crazy all the threads fraying but I actually like that!
p.s. a little public shout out to my sister Mern for the hand...its come in very, um, handy, thank you!

What a cool use for fabric scraps. I am the type who can't throw anything away (especially scraps of cute fabrics), and that's a great use for the long, thin ones. Thanks for the inspiration!
LOVE that hat & the buttons too!
Fabulous finds! Congratulations!
Great button haul! And i like the fraying-ness of the bracelet. It's summer surfer chic!
i LOVE mccalls needlework and crafts. i have a lot of the 60's & 70's ones and they are awesome!!
