I’m so happy its Friday! To celebrate, here are 3 random things:
#1 - Things I’d like to watch this weekend while working on my embroidery {too lazy to make links - sorry!}:
* the bishop’s wife {cary grant…swoon} – sat. tcm
* topper {again, cary grant…swoon} – sat. tcm
* bedknobs & broomsticks {tcm} – sat. tcm
* wargames {tcm 31 days of oscar rocks!} – sat. tcm
* pride & prejudice {colin firth…swoon} – sun. pbs
- check your local listing if you'e interested in any of these to make sure I got the right day!
#2 - I’m adding this to my japanese craft book wish list: thesmallobject
#3 - Do you recall I showed you a little thrifted squirrel back a little while ago? I bought him for 95 cents at the thrift store & planned to paint him blue. I tried blue & didn’t like it, then I decided on black – glossy black really seems to have brought the naughty devil out in him don’t you think?
I love this sort of project…its so relaxing, easy and fun! {You know I’m all about the simple projects with 2 or fewer steps that give you instant gratification – if you didn’t know that about me, now you do!} It provides a nice balance to my embroidery projects.
Here's another guy thrifted for $1.50 who I thought could use a makeover:
Hadn't gotten that blue out of my system yet so...4 coats later he looks calmer & happier don’t you think?
Don’t they make a nice couple?!
The paint is just the cheap stuff you buy at Michaels & I use a sponge brush.
Wow – that was a random bunch of stuff…Happy weekend!

i love tcm more than anyone can imagine. don't you love 31 days of oscars?
wow!
i would have never, ever thought of doing that. now when i hit the thrift store, i'll be looking at this kinda schtuff with a new set of eyes :)
Oh, I love that you clean up finds like that. Weirdly, I have never thought to repaint figures like that. I mean I will repaint a bureau just as fast as the next girl, but never thought to rescue animals too.
