{does anyone have any suggestion on how to get the paint off the gnome's face? even though there's some weird discolartion in the plastic that won't come off I still think he'll look better without the paint. however, scrapping it off is proving to be very slow going & murder on my thumb nail...}

I have no embroidery progress photos to share on my current wip...its going okay & I like the way it looks...its just slow going.

so instead I thought {although it has absolutely nothing to do with embroidery} I'd show a photo of the spring mantle:

moonstruck

I've always loved that movie...it was on this weekend so I watched it; thinking about how it reminds me of my loud but loving italian family, and how much that young nicholas cage looks like my guy when we met in college.

this weekend I bought that guy of mine, who sang me "moonlight becomes you" while walking one moonlit night through campus, this at an estate sale:



I know you never became the secret agent astronaut you wanted to be when you were a little boy babe, but you made me feel like the moon was there just for me that night and that's something pretty special.

there are so many great quotes in the movie but this one says it all "aw, ma, I love him awful"

thursday = embroidery

this is my current embroidery wip {although there's no actual embroidery on it yet}:


I'm not sure where I'm going with it - I had a mental vision of what it would look like, but now I'm not so sure I can realize it in real life...I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can pull it off. {and yes, there are no hands on the clock because my vision involves incorporating a working clock mechanism - may well have bitten off more than I can chew on this one!}

I was in line ready to check out at one of my favorite thrift stores this past weekend, when I noticed two small bags of letters which I quickly grabbed to use for photos. I think the words I spelled out right away probably say more about me than I'd like to admit...



oh, I guess they're both four letter words...I was warning you about the second one.
