I thrifted these:
the woman who checked me out mentioned what a lovely frame I'd gotten...when I explained that I also liked the needlework she looked at me like I had two heads, both with bad taste.
the painting is signed and dated '32
p.s. thank you so much for all your nice comments about the photos from yesterday & for making me feel a little less weird :)
IMO there is nothing better than finding an original, signed painting at a thrift store, period.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it, the God of thrift store scores is your best friend.
ReplyDeleteI love the Barbie shoes photos by the way. I'm starting to enjoy taking photos of tiny things myself.
I know how the thrifting goes, what I love, others usually won't. They look at me like, huh? and just don't get it. Well, I totally love both of your pictures! Good going :)
ReplyDeleteohhh swoon.. I love the crewel embroidery you found!!!!! LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteyou have the BEST thrifting luck! i'm always so jealous!
ReplyDeleteI like the embroidery too, but it's on a wrong frame. It should be slightly smaller and oval to make the embroidery look better. :-)
ReplyDeleteim glad it's not just me! I bought a lovely crosstsitch budgie picture from a thrift store and the lady made fun of me! I think your flowers are adorable :)
