Oh my gosh that dog photo is a RIOT! There's nothin' funnier than dressing up our doggies :) Love love the petticoat.
I just wore a petticoat in that exact shade of blue to work on Friday (with leggings underneath). One of the kids at my son's preschool came up to me and said, "Look mama, a ballerina!"
Sigh. I've always wanted one, even if just to hang up on the wall with a pretty hanger.

A petticoat tip: when washing, add starch to the last rinse and pin to the clothesline in a circle shape until dry.

Well congratulations on your wonderful purchase. I just bought my first vintage petticoat and I am 61. I also felt like it was a frivolous purchase but couldn't resist as I have always wanted one and this one was luscious! I will use it for Argentine tango dancing.
