a roadtrip

once upon a time there was a roadtrip...from wichita to mount rushmore to devils tower to the badlands & back again. many many photos were taken, although not really of mount rushmore, devils tower or the badlands...in fact we'll just get them out of the way right now:

let's also dispense with bison & prairie dog shots:

what I did take tons of photos of was every vintage thing I could find in every small town along the way. so lots & lots of signs...motels...theater marques...cafes & diners...and not one but two places filled with large numbers of taxidermy animals. so settle in because it's going to be a couple weeks of recap photos & not much else around here {I apologize for those of you who come here for crafty/embroidery type posts it's going to be kind of boring for you...but I'll try to make it up to you afterwards}.

  2. Fabulous! I took the very same trip one spring break when I was attending Mizzou. I listened to a lot of Neko Case on that trip. South Dakota is a vintage and kitsch goldmine, isn't it? I'm looking forward to your photos!

  3. So cool. Do tell what cities you stopped in please. My family and I are heading from Des Moines IA to Yellowstone taking that route. We were thinking of spending a day stopping in small towns along the way to do some thrifting. Any advice would be so helpful. Plus you have a great eye for all things vintage.
