  2. As a teenager learning to sew, my mother bought me this book, and I still refer to it. Is it possible we are going to see something sewn from your fabulous collection of vintage fabric?

  3. thanks everyone for your comments!

daan - hope you have good luck thrifting on your holiday :)

martha - how wonderful that your mother's gift has stayed with you & is still useful, so sweet! but sadly no, I just can not seem to get past my mental block when it comes to sewing! I want to make things but I'm intimidated by patterns & the technical aspect of the whole thing...I pretty much just bought the book for the illustrations because they would be perfect for embroidery ;)

  4. Happy 2014 New Year!
I am a bit late in finding you...just recently learned about that "next blog" thingy at the top of the screen...you are a wonderful find. I too buy old pattern books. The older the better in giving step-by-step instructions on actually how to sew. One thing though, if you can embroider, then you have been "hand sewing" all this time!!
I started at about seven with blue birds (stem stitch), then moved on to samplers (cross stitch). How many accordion solos can I hope to watch? And any duets I should I watch out for in your archives? Thanks for posting. delia in rb

thank you so much for stopping by & leaving a comment - they totally make my day! I try to answer questions but unless you have setup your profile to provide your email, or included it in your comment I won't be able to reply to you directly, so I will leave it in the comments :)
