wednesday = thursday = embroidery

{my mom & sister arrive this afternoon - yay! - so I'm going to be taking off the rest of the week to eat, drink & be thankful with them...but I didn't want to skip my weekly embroidery post, so we're going to pretend it's thursday.}

I've actually been pretty productive lately so I have another finished project to share with you:

the printed painting came from the thrift store & the home sweet home from flickr. I sized & adjusted the design on the computer to fit, printed & taped it together then used {thrifted} carbon paper to transfer the design onto the back of the cardboard:

next I used a cordless drill to make the holes & yarn to do the cross-stitch:

I'm really happy with the way it came out & might have to do some more in the future...black friday I'll probably be at the thrift store looking for more artwork :)

and for this week's embroidery transfer - a bird with a weapon just seemed fitting:

happy stitching & happy thanksgiving!!

Love! Here's hoping the Black Friday shoppers will be at the *mall* and not the thrift store. Happy Turkey Day!

I just hopped over here from another blog and I am going through your cross stitch posts (I just started cross stitching 10 weeks ago). I absolutely love this project. How many times have I passed by a similar little oil landscape at my local thrift shop?

Your one of the most creative people I know. How do you come up with all these awesome artistic ideas?
