fabric wrapped pendant

I have so many little scraps of fabric that are too pretty to throw away, which recently gave me this idea for a quick & easy necklace:

I started with this pendant from hobby lobby:

took it apart, & used the smaller teardrop shaped piece to wrap a thin strip of fabric that I had pressed one edge of. at the end I just cut the fabric to stop on the backside & used a bit of glue to keep it from unraveling.

speaking of using fabric scraps, this book looks like it might be interesting:

My mother-in-law was going to throw out her trunk of scraps to which I screamed "No! Give it to me!". I'm not sure what to do with them as I'm not a crafter but I think your idea would make a good girl scout project. Thanks for the inspiration... now to get that book so I can figure out what to do with the trunk of scraps ;o)

That is so, so pretty! Hmm. I have a metal bracelet that I might be able to shape into something pendant worthy. I can't wait to try it. I'll be linking as well. I love this!
