thursday = embroidery

here's a photo of part of my current wip:

so far so good...but man those french knots & lazy daisies really slowed me down!

and without further ado, this week's vintage embroidery patterns are...horses:

I was horse crazy as a girl, riding my bike over to the stable where I took riding lessons whenever I could to spend time with the horses. especially bania, she was my favorite:

{there are three more horse designs available here if you'd like the whole set}

happy stitching!

p.s. my wip is lottie from badbird

  4. OMG -- I recognized this immediately -- you're making a big Lottie! I fell in love with her watching Floresita stitch her version. I can't wait to see yours with the bright red background.

  5. Really lovely work!

    I hope it is a big Lottie, like Martha suggests. What a terrific pattern, no?

  6. Yay, you decided to start Lottie! Now I'm the one that's lagging behind on our impromptu stitch along. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait until next week before I can purchase it. I like it that you've decided to do it on red! I'm excited to see what brilliant twist you put on it.

    The horse patterns are great, by the way. You know I love to stitch the horses. <3

    You're still really cute but I've never seen a photo of you as a child.
    Made me smile. You're just the same!

  11. I was wondering if you had additional pictures or information about the 7380 horse quilting pattern. I'm searching for one that is very similar to the unbridled but saddled horse,or if you know of any similar patterns. My email is renekinyon@gmail.com thanks for your time, it is greatly appreciated.
