What a great set of photos. I can hardly believe all the stuff they kept. I loved reading the titles on the piano rolls and the fact that they list the "played by" pianist.
I actually didn't buy anything this time muddlepud...although I REALLY wanted that typewriter fortune teller machine!
funny story about those rolls martha...there were literally thousands of them & I only took a couple photos closeup where you could read the titles. I didn't pay any attention at the time but when I got home & was looking through the photos I found one of the rolls was Gigi which has special meaning for me! very freaky but very cool :)
I don't know what I'm going to do next weekend Allie - I didn't see any interesting auctions listed in the sunday paper :(
I found your blog via flickr and want to thank you for this particular post! My dad rebuilt player pianos as a hobby in the 1980s as a way to keep busy while trying to quit smoking and I remember hearing about the Player Piano Co. in my childhood. I've one of the pianos he rebuilt and am sure that many parts came from this company. I'm a bit sad that it may be going away.
thank you so much for stopping by & leaving a comment - they totally make my day! I try to answer questions but unless you have setup your profile to provide your email, or included it in your comment I won't be able to reply to you directly, so I will leave it in the comments :)
