Oh geez this brings back memories of Bobby Sherman - must be the hair on these guys. I grew up looking at stuff like this, wearing those granny square crocheted vests [ugh] as my mom was a prolific crocheter. I refuse to look at pictures of my youth, lol!
Umm, well I, umm, (throat clearing), umm, that's interesting! I don't think real guys EVER wore those. They probably had to pay the models pretty well to get them to wear them. Or maybe they were just desperate for a job! Blessings, Lorilee
Geez, I'm way behind in my commenting, and normally I wouldn't comment on something this far back, but ha! These are fabulous. I love that we thought men would wear these. I mean, isn't it hard enough to convince most men that something hand made is something they'd want to wear? Then you throw in a belted sweater? Ha!
I took the link back here from a newer post....had to see the belted sweater story. OMG......now shows like 'that 70's show' seem to fog peoples memory as to how totally ungroovy the 70's really were. The show uses the styles of the 70's....but updated the colours to make it more acceptable to today's market. Now this......this is the real thing. Man it was bad:)
thank you so much for stopping by & leaving a comment - they totally make my day! I try to answer questions but unless you have setup your profile to provide your email, or included it in your comment I won't be able to reply to you directly, so I will leave it in the comments :)

ReplyDeletethe man in the lower right hand corner looks like he could be in the 'men in tights' issue too! :D
ReplyDeleteOMG! It takes a real man to wear a belted sweater! I can think of about 50 people that I HAVE to have come and look at this! LOL!

Manly, yet somehow very girlie.
ReplyDeleteThese are just so wrong, and yet I can't stop looking at them -- they are strangely fascinating.
