seventeen make it magazine

I bought a 1972 fall/winter issue this past weekend at an estate sale & thought I'd share some images:



I love the combinations of pattern & color on these - I wish I could pull off wearing this kind of vintage clothing:



and this is my favorite because I have a thing for beards & coats:


if I'm reading correctly I believe the illustration is attributed to Albert Elia

    When I was a little kid, I had a dress (this would have been around the Bicentennial) with those red-white-and-blue two-hole buttons near the bottom of the Costumakers ad. I remember the brand well, I remember my mom letting me pick out buttons at the fabric store for whatever she was going to be sewing me.

    And that Albert Elba illustration is just cool.

    I loved this magazine. A kit in the Fall 1970 issue is the reason I learned needlepoint.

    It was so cool, I had to have it (I was almost 14 at the time). I made my parents buy it for me and a life-long passion was born.

    I love the "Draw on the Boyes" one. Too funny.

    My grandma made me a shirt with those red, white and blue buttons in the add. I haven't thought of that in ages. Thanks! : )

    These are wonderful, the buttons and the beardy coats especially. You really do have the most amazing, magpie-ish thrifting skills (and the nicest habit of sharing them with the less-blessed among us!).
