allow me to introduce myself

Hi - it’s nice to meet you!

I've decided to try my hand at this blogging thing. Although, I'm a little nervous since I read a lot of beautifully written & photographed blogs by very talented & prolific people!

But still, here we go…

I'm a full-time graphic designer and I work on the computer most of the day so I took up embroidery about 2 years ago as a different type of creative outlet. So I’ll be posting a lot about embroidery. {I’m hoping that one of the benefits of blogging will be an increase in my craft productivity & expand the types I do.}

I also love to go to thrift stores, estate sales & rummage sales. I mean I REALLY love it...like its probably a compulsion but we won't go there. I'll post photos of my finds {because everyone knows the best part of finding a $1 treasure is sharing it with people who can appreciate your good luck!}

While out looking for treasures I focus on a couple categories; embroidery transfers, buttons, books & fabric. One of my goals this year is to create electronic databases of my transfers & fabrics. Therefore, I will be scanning and cataloging them for easy reference and I thought others might like to enjoy them as well so I’ll be sharing them here as well as through several flickr groups I recently joined.

And finally our pets are a big part of my life and I enjoy taking photos of them so you’ll be seeing them quite a bit as well.

I’m thinking I’m going to create a weekly schedule to help myself get started and prompt me so that I don’t feel like I don’t have anything to talk about:

Monday = Thrifted
Tuesday = Fabric
Wednesday = Books
Thursday = Embroidery
Friday = Pets

So there you go – if you do stop by please leave a comment…I’m so nervous no one will visit!

Wonderful! Welcome to blogland! I'm so excited you'll be sharing about your vintage transfers on Thursdays - I have a Vintage Transfers blog, too. :)

You are much braver than I am! I hesitate to start a blog for the very same reasons you stated. You're off to a great start with a nice photograph of your treasures, and they are such happy colors! I will have to collect my thoughts and get blogging too! Never know if you'll succeed unless your try.

Yay! Bring on the vintage transfers! I was totally inspired by Floresita to start a vintage transfer blog and wanted to share and "pay back" so to speak. :)

And you can never have too many pet photos!

I love that you have a blog schedule! It is a fun idea to write about something different regularly. I am a wicked rummage girl too!

I'm so glad I found your site! I, too, am a full-time graphic designer who has recently started to do more crafting and thrifting.

Where do you find such amazing estate sales?! If only I could be so lucky.

Hello! I just spent more than an hour looking through your blog from front to back, I guess and want to say that I absolutely love it! You are definitely inspiring me. I can't believe your awesome I LOVE LUCY embroidery pic, and the shadow box with the trees and the plastic deer. Forgive my incoherence, but its is now 2 a.m. and I have to force myself to get to bed.
