estate sale time machine

I picked up that wall-hanging I showed you yesterday at an estate sale on saturday. but this was no ordinary sale...this house was so unusual I had to run home to get my camera:










the house sold on the first day of the sale {thursday}. I suppose it will probably be gutted & updated by the new owners...I'm glad I got to see it.

    I am sure it is probably just seeing a glimpse of it via photos, but it looks like a house that was purposefully decorated in that style rather than a house in a time warp (which is what most estate sale houses seem like!). And so colorful! Really unsusual indeed.

    Oh my gosh, that place was amazing. I love estate sales, they're so interesting.. and a little creepy, eh? The pictures look like they're right out of a design magazine.

    I unloaded a bunch of craft stuff my mother-in-law gave me yesterday. She had all these learn-to-sew or knit or embroider craft books from the 50's & it made me think of you. Thanks to you I see what treasures these are :) Remember, I'm not a crafter but want to be ;o)

    I agree with the comment that it doesn't look like it was stuck in a time warp but rather purposefully done. The color choices are amazing! Thank you for sharing this amazing place with us!

    This cracks me up... It's as if you had an estate sell. With Spring slowly showing up Antonio & I want to start going to some sales. We need your secret. Glad you found such a cool house!

    I'm going to dream and say that the person who snatched up this amazing house decided that they adored that style and they had to have it. This also requires them going to sale and buying up as much as possible of the fantastic stuff inside...
    It might not be the case...but it's a happier ending than thinking of the poor house suffering like that.

    This place is a gem! I would've been salivating at every turn. :)
    To think that there's people who don't see the beauty in leaving some original design elements in a home.

    I am so glad you took these photos! I'm inspired to use some of the design elements in my own home :)

    Oh AWESOME! That yellow dresser...the sectional! Such gorgeousness. I hope that it was bought by some retro-lovin' family. It would be a pity to gut it!

    I want the Chambers wall oven!!! Been searching for one for a very long time. If anyone knows who bought the house, and if it is indeed gutted (even just the kitchen!) - I want to buy the wall oven :)
