a sampler

after the initials I moved onto a sampler:

I got the design from this book, which I picked up thrifting:

title: the sampler motif book with traditional cross-stitch designs & alphabets
author: Brenda Keyes
ISBN: 0895779188
copyright: 1995
publisher: The Reader’s Digest Association, Inc.

that went well, so I threw myself into another project which is in progress and will be for some time since there are many, many little x’s involved.

p.s. if you’re interested in the book amazon has used ones available.

bitten

I didn't think this would ever happen to me...but I've been bitten by the cross-stitch bug.

it started with these little 3" hoop initials I made as last-minute xmas gifts:

back

I don't know where to start...there's alot to share...I think the marshmallows my friend Jill & I made on xmas day are a nice, fluffy way to begin:

we may very well be the last people to try making these, but better late than never as they say...

they were delicious & as it turns out, a travel destination for a gnome away from home {thanks sue!}:

still to come:

*photos of handmade gifts
*a one year blog anniversary giveaway
*2009 blogging ideas {suggestions welcomed!}

p.s. thanks for all the nice comments about the photos from last week - it was so fun to share them with you :)
