recent embroidery

while sitting around over the christmas holiday I got quite a bit of embroidery done.  I always bring some with me when I travel home & this year I was especially proud of myself because I actually planned ahead so that what I brought was the start of things I will give as gifts next year!  we'll see if it truly works out that way but if intentions are worth anything I'm doing great :)

two of the designs I used were based on images I found on pinterest that weren't meant to be embroidery patterns per say but I'm always on the lookout for things that I think will translate well & these two definitely did so I thought I'd share them here...

I'd love if anyone who has similar examples to share would post them in the comments for myself & other stitchers :)

(please note - these pieces will ultimately only be given as gifts to family & friends so I think it's ok to use the designs & I will try to see if I can contact the source to share how their work inspired me)
