the only thing I bought was a 50 cent button as a momento of that morning. I plan to make it into a ring & every time I wear it I will think of how it really did feel like I stepped back in time when I walked through that doorway.
Seeing these photos reminds me of Schwab's 5 and Dime store on Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee...all the random, crazy stuff! I especially love the Kiddie Favorite's game!
This stepping back in time through your photos of Zelman's is an eerie delight. Eerie because everything seems so ... hushed (ghost-like); Delightful because of all the wondrous vintage & antique goodness (and the mental image of its original glory). p.s. I think it's perfect that you left with only a button to commemorate the moment!
