ventura, ca

{aka san buenaventura} is a cute little town with a street full of shops {including thrift stores} & restaurants:










today I'm very honored & flattered to be interviewed by the lovely jeanee on her very cute blog dirty laundry! she makes the most adorable cupcake bath fizzies...I could just eat them up :)

p.s. while I was taking that self portrait my sister was buying a present...hey mern - I know what sue got you for your b-day & I think you're really going to like it!

farmers market & shine gallery

one of the first places my sister & I went was the farmers market where they have lots of different food vendors to choose from as well as lots of little shops, including the fabulous shine gallery:









they also have the cutest metal chairs throughout the market & signs dispensing excellent advice:


but if you go make sure you get your parking ticket validated or you'll have to pay $12 & never hear the end of it from your sister about how she can't trust you to read signs anymore...oops!

well, actually...california, there I went!


I went to thrift stores:


the flea market:


the japanese bookstore:


some museums:


took alot - I mean alot - of photos {including many old signs}:


learned how to hold a bunny so they can get their nails clipped:


ate alot - I mean alot - of food, even cotton candy:


saw dolphins:


and couldn't help but keep repeating "I'm not in kansas anymore":


I had a wonderful time visiting my sister {hi sue!} and all those photos I took...well, you didn't really think there'd just be one post did you? it's going to be all CA all the time around here for a little while, hope that's okay :)
