wednesday = books

I bought today's book at an estate sale earlier in the summer not because I will probably ever make a hat, but because I loved the illustrations:

title: The Key to Millinery Design; how to make smart hats
author, designer & illustrator: Pier Montagna
technical drawings: Ian R. Mastrup
copyright: 1962 {by Max Padell}

I'm glad the first holiday post was well received - thank you for your comments!

I should have realized those gingerbread crafts would be a favorite of so many & provided more information about them...so here you go:

what an amazing book! millinery is one skill that i've always wanted to learn, i adore vintage hats. if you ever decide to sell the book or pass it on, please keep me in mind! there are very few good millinery books out there now. and this one looks to have awesome illustrations!

Wow! Amazing. Did you scan the whole book?
Is there any possibility that I could get a copy? I'm living in germany and sadly can't find it here.

Greetings,

Dirk

It looks like a very interesting book and the illustrations are wonderful. It's amazing the amount of millinery books that were produced in the 50's and 60's and all have these wonderful drawings.

Thanks for sharing!
